A dessert worthy.
Trollkrem, or troll cream is a dessert made of sugar, egg whites and lingonberry. By whipping it you end up with this fluffy and creamy dessert which is both sweet and deliciously tangy at the same time. A traditional dessert that goes way back. The name is unknown, but might be either from the lingonberries which has been called troll berries back in the day – or because trolls live up in the mountains, where we also can find a bunch of lingonberries.
Today, this dessert is not the most common – and many people, especially the younger ones have probably never tasted it. It’s well worth a try – and a little goes a long way.

Trollkrem | Troll Cream
4 dl lingonberry
2 dl sugar
½ tsp vanilla sugar
2 egg whites
- Add everything to a bowl and beat with a hand mixer or kitchen aid until fluffy and pink.
- Add some fresh berries on top.
- Enjoy straight away.
