Routine is a funny thing- we love and hate it. We even crave it some times- yet we long for a life that is routine-free. A life filled with travels and the unexpected where no day is the same. Can we create a life with both?
As many others I take the subway to work everyday, which I on occasion miss and I have to wait for the next that depart every ten minutes from Majorstuen station in Oslo. I see the same people every day going in and out of the trams- most of them being overly concentrated to catch their train. It’s a routine- and you can see it in their faces. You rarely get eye contact and a smile is miles away, but I get it- I get that when you have to catch the same tram ever day over several years, you wouldn’t really bother to smile to every person you pass along your path.
When my mind wonders as I stand there I tend to look up to the sky- what always catch my attentions are the birds. They fly from one roof to the other- following each other, almost dancing their way back and forth between the roof tops. It’s almost like a meditative thing, where all I do is watch them fly for the next ten minutes before I catch my tram to work.
Routine. As I said, we crave it-especially in the first months of the new year when one would like to stick to the resolutions. Which is why I decided to give you a great recipe for a great smoothie that will forever be in my every day routine. Loaded with avocado, spinach and plant based milk helps to make one feel energized and happy- the soft dates gives the whole thing a little bit of sweetness to top it off.
This recipe is a part of a Norwegian food blog challenge and this months theme being alcohol-free drinks started by the lovely Julia Døhlen Edin. A great opportunity to share and disover new bloggers and recipes from Norway.
