Mulled Pear Cider

Yield 8

Ingredients

1 litre tangy apple juice

1 cinnamon stick

1 star anise, whole

5 cloves, whole

1 clementine

1 stalk of thyme

1 litre pear cider

Pear and clementine for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring apple juice to a boil with spices, clementine and thyme.
  2. Let simmer for around 30 minutes.
  3. Strain the liquid and add the pear cider.
  4. Serve straight from the pot- or serve in glasses together with slices of clementine and pear.

Notes

Use a apple juice that is not too sweet, but more on the tangy side- the pear cider will balance it out perfectly.

If you want a non-alcoholic drink, simply let the pear cider simmer together with the rest of the ingredients.
