Healthy Mulled Wine

Yield 1 liter

A delicious and healthy mulled wine for the holidays- packed with antioxidants from all the lovely berries!


200 gram blueberries, frozen

400 gram raspberries, frozen

1 thumb sized ginger

1 tsp cloves, whole

3 star anise

1 cinnamon stick, ceylon

1 liter water

350 ml honey (or to taste)


  1. Bring berries, ginger, spices and water to a boil and let simmer for an hour so the berries release all of its flavor.
  2. Strain the liquid from the berries and stir in honey (as much or little as you feel like)!
  3. Add a bottle of red wine if serving to adults or without for a healthy christmas!


If you, like me, don't always care for the healthy- add 1 bottle of wine before serving or add it during the boiling process to get rid of the alcohol, but what's the fun in that?
